How long do dogs live for? It is always a good idea to learn about your pet dog before bringing them home. Did you know that there are pet dogs that can make your home theirs and few cannot. The mixed breed on a general basis, has an average lifespan of 11 years which are 20 pounds, on the other hand those that weighed above 90 pounds has a lifespan of 8 years. Though small dogs would enjoy a long life than others, mixed breeds live more than an average of 1.2 years than the pure breed. Big and larger dogs live a little lesser than those of the small ones as they grow pretty fast and are also heavier than those small dogs. On research, it was to be found that female dogs live a longer life than the male dogs approximately like 2 years longer than the average.

Chihuahua is the first breed with the longest living breeds of all and they are one of the smallest. They can live up an average lifespan of 15-20 years, they can be with you for a longer time as compared to others.

Yorkshire terrier can be the second most breed with long lifespan. They are most popular breed and can live up to 17-20 years, so having this little breed around you can make you lucky. They are cute and furry with having long hair all around them.

Pomeranian being the most loved by majority of us would be the third most to have an average lifespan of 12-16 years. These cute little fluffy are loved and cuddled by many owners to bring more and more years of love and togetherness.
